Thanks for the comments everyone. The chest X-rays are back and the diagnosis is an icky case of viral bronchitis (at least it's not pneumonia!). I am ordered to stay in bed until Monday now, instead of returning to work tomorrow. I'm still feverish and pretty exhausted, so I will probably be doing very little hanging out online with the laptop the next few days, and a lot of sleeping (between the coughing jags) and just plain general resting up instead. I'll see y'all next week.
Edited to add: If you're missing your dose of Meg-ness while I am out ill, pop on over to meg on the bus blog. It's a different Meg, but she uses the same method of transportation and has that excellent Meg sense of humor, so it's all good and she's well worth a read. That said, I'm off to go turn off the computer and cough out a lung or two. Bronchitis really sucks.

Oh yuk! I have asthma so I get bronchitis all the time! I hope you're over this quickly!
Ps. I was reading your profile. Sounds like we have a lot in common! I'm looking forward to reading more.
Aw...I'm gettin' some bloggy love. I won't let you down, Fellow Meg.
On a related note, similar to the Meg and Meg bloggers....Your blog is "Vintage Flapper to the Rescue" (but you already knew that) and one of my favorite blogs is "Mr Flapper." But a different kind of Flapper. He's a duck actually. But still it's funny to see side by side in Google Reader "Vintage Flapper to the Rescue" next to "Mr Flapper Duck." Ahem. Shutting up now.
MEG! I'm glad you're feeling a little better. I think fate blessed me with a bit of a dumb dog this round, but he sure is sweet. :-)
I am trying the kongs now, they love 'em!
I suppose that's better than being paired with toilet flapper blogs (I get a lot of searches from people looking to do DIY repairs on their toilets over here). Meg over at Future House Farm is pretty darn cool (although she hasn't been as active as of late).
Speaking of blogging Megs, I miss Meghan O'Hara of Squirrel Bait fame. Way back in the days of online journals in the late 90s when I used to have an online journal myself, she was my absolute favorite. She hasn't posted anything in donkey's ages, though. Her "Attack of the Jesi" entry still cracks me up when I think about it, and I think it's been 12 years or something since I first read it...?
I'm online right now to look at recipes to try to tempt myself to eat. Food sounds so gross right now (which is total proof that I am quite ill still, as I really adore food). I think I need to eat something other than homecanned Comice pears and a chocolate egg today. Can't decide what, though.
PS....Ruthie...if you need any Kong recipes, let me know!!! Yes, we're dorks, but we've come up with some pretty popular combos and I'd be happy to share if you need any inspiration or ideas at any point. Hint: stale, leftover crackers, especially those Goldfish pretzel crackers Nicole adores, are extremely popular in the Kong mix. Rice, too. DON'T do oatmeal, though....it's too glue-y and sticks in the Kongs and even scrubbing *and* a dishwasher run thru doesn't budge it. Not worth it, even if they like it.
Take care of yourself, and soak in as much healing puppy love as possible!
Ugh!! So sorry my friend. I hope you feel better soon! xoxo
Meg, it seems like you've been sick all winter, girl. You need to eat more dirt! At least that's what my mother in law says. Send me your address...I'm going to send you a box of good ole Buckeye topsoil.
PS....I'm glad to hear it's not pneumonia. Take care. Drink some tea.
I can't find your email address, so I'm leaving this here for you to find. More for Streak, but I think you'll enjoy it, too: http://ihasahotdog.com/2009/04/12/funny-dog-pictures-snow-dai/
Hope you're feeling better! <3
Thanks guys!! I'm now off to catch up some on my blogs...I read a disgustingly large # of blogs and have only checked in on a few here and there the last few weeks. I have my work cut out for me! But it *will* keep me awake for the next few hours, which is good, as I have to leave for work in another 3 hours and all I really want is to go back to bed...
